Hobbs Tuscany Premium Polyester Batting

Hobbs Tuscany Premium Polyester Batting is superbly soft, drapes well and is manufactured to the highest industry specifications. Exceptional for hand quilting, it is also prized by machine quilters for its wonderful loft which accentuates quilting details.

Hobbs Tuscany Premium Polyester Batting is made with the finest siliconized, very fine, denier polyester – the fibers are carded, cross lapped and bonded to create a very strong and resilient batting that doesn’t beard or migrate.

Items made with Hobbs Tuscany Premium Polyester Batting may be machine washed – we recommend all quilts be washed using a delicate cycle and cool water, with no heavy agitation or spinning. Please be especially cautious with front loading washers as the intense spin cycle on these machines can be very hard on quilts. Items made with Hobbs Tuscany Premium Polyester Batting may also be machine dried (again, we recommend a low-heat setting). For more detailed washing information, please see the care instructions on the product packaging. 

Hobbs Tuscany Premium Polyester Batting should be paired with light- to medium-colored fabrics – if being paired with darker fabrics, we recommend quilters test this batting with their chosen fabric(s) to see if there will be an issue. It’s always best to test first!

This batting may be stitched up to 4″ apart and no shrinkage is expected when the finished project is washed according to our care instructions (above).

We recommend quilters spend time learning about Hobbs Tuscany Premium Polyester Batting before using it on a project – making samples using this batting to see how it needles, both by hand and by machine, and how it launders, provides an opportunity to see if this batting can deliver the desired results.

Pre-washing is not recommended for this or any of our other quality batting products.
