Ice Dye with Carol Edmondson

Ice dying is an easy and fun way to turn ordinary fabric into beautiful one of a kind fabric you can use in a multitude of ways. From applique, quilting and garments. The fabrics for dying should be 100% natural fiber no synthetic fibers at all. Cotton and linen fibers work best.
Supply List
- We are making a kit (40.00) that includes the dyes, mordant and safety equipment.
- Wear clothing you do not care if they get stained.
- NOTE; ANY MATERIALS THAT COME IN CONTACT WITH THE DYE OR MORTANT CAN NO LONGER BE USED FOR FOOD.
- Wire rack to fit over basin
- Basin to contain the melted ice
- A container to hold the used dye liquid
- Bag of ice
- .5 meter fabric for dying - we have prepared for dyeing fabric (PFD) you can purchase for the class. If you are using a fabric that is not PFD you will have to wash it prior class to remove any dirt and sizing. Please DO NOT use fabric softeners or drier sheets on the fabric. The rest of the prep can be done in class.
