Embroidery Test Day

We have very exciting news!
Dragonfly Quilting & Gifts is very excited to work exclusively with Yvonne Menear to market & merchandise her embroidery designs.

A monthly Subscription Embroidery Club has been created for our out-of-town customers.

To make this a success, we are asking our customers to join us on our journey.

We need your creativity to help market Yvonne's designs.
The more ideas we can show, the more ideas we can give to our customers who can not visit our store.

Space is limited to 24 participants.


Each participant will receive the digital file for free, plus get to play with the thread, from the Wonderfil thread Library.
All participants must know the basics of embroidery to participate.


What we are asking from participating students

Each student will stitch out a design, using your creativity of thread.
One stitched out design will be kept by us, to be used in the marketing of the Subscription Embroidery Club.
There are no right or wrong choices.
Inspiration & creativity is the goal.

We have teamed up with Wonderfil, to give all participants the opportunity to use a library of threads for FREE!
The more thread you can play with, the more creative you will be.

EMBROIDERY TEST SEW DAY SUPPLY LIST

Dragonfly will supply a background fabric, stabilizer, and thread samples to create one (1) test sew design, and the stitch file.  We will be keeping the first sample to photograph for the website to market the designs for sale.

We encourage you to create your own designs to use for pillows, placemats, tote bags, etc. using the design provided and edit it to your particular use.  The more variations in application of the design, the better it is for us to photograph and use to highlight the designs on the website.

Bring extra fabric (embroidery designs stitch best on solid/non-print background fabrics), stabilizer (tear away), 505 spray adhesive large enough for the size of hoops you have.

Bring an assortment of your threads (poly, cotton, metallic, variegated, etc.)

Bring a USB stick with your name and file format needed written on the stick so I can transfer the design for you to your machine.

Bring your machine in good working order (cleaned it lately?) with your machine feet, power cord, extension cord, hoops, bobbins, needles.   The simple design will require a minimum of a 5 x 7-inch stitch field (125 x 175 mm).  Bring all your hoops so you can merge multiple designs, text, background images to create a more interesting design application.
